Over the past three years, DBMS has been “Psyched about Science” as reflected as much in our increased state test scores as in the increase in Scientific literacy throughout our entire school. Words of the week, Science Immersion, Science Fair – Evening of Discovery, Brain Bowl, Super Sonic Saturday Science, and Earth Day celebrations are just a few of the examples of students and teachers “Going Green” and getting involved with the environment and the world around us as never before.

8th Grade

Mr. Dias
Mr. Diasis certified in Earth and Space Science and is Gifted Endorsed. He brings 7 years of teaching experience to D.B.M.S. He has had the fortunate opportunity to teach 6, 7 and 8th grade Science.

Ms. Pinnell
Ms. Pinnell teaches on our 8th grade International Baccalaureate (IB) Team. She is certified in Biology and Chemistry grades 612 and is Gifted Endorsed. She is a graduate of Troy University.

Ms. Vellon
Ms. Vellon enjoys teaching Physical Science. She is certified in Integrated Middle Grades Curriculum and has been teaching for 2 years at D.B.M.S.

Mr. Lanz
Mr. Lanz has been teaching Science for 10 years. He is a graduate of the University of Central Florida. He is certified in Middle Grades Science.

7th Grade

Ms. Clinton
Jennifer Clinton is certified in Middle Grades Science. Ms. Clinton has been working in the DBMS Science Department for the past five years.

Ms. Dieujuste
Ms. Dieujuste has taught science for 6 years. She is certified in Middle Grades Science. She enjoys teaching our students Life Science.

Ms. Fogel
Ms. Fogel’s certifications include Biology 612 and Middle Grades Science. She is a National Board Certified Teacher and teaches on our 7th grade International Baccalaureate (IB) Team. She brings 21 years of teaching experience to our Science Department.

Ms. Scott
Ms. Scott is certified in Earth and Space Science. She has been teaching at DBMS for the past three years.

6th Grade

Ms. Cox-Morris
certifications include Middle Grades Science and Physical Education K – 12. She is Gifted Endorsed and teaches on our International Baccalaureate Team (IB). She works closely with our students in preparation for school, county, and state Science Fairs.

Mr. Resta
Mr. Resta is certified in Middle Grades Science59 and Agriculture. He is also certified as a Horticulture Professional by FNGLA. He is most interested in vegetable gardening, life in the solar system and restoring natural areas to their native roots.

Ms. Nichols
Ms. Nichols is certified in Elementary Education. Ms. Nichols has been teaching at DBMS for the past six years.

Ms. Shulman
Ms. Shulman has been teaching for 8 years. Her certifications include Elementary Education and Earth and Space Science. She is ESOL endorsed and enjoys providing our students with relevant science field experiences.
